2021-22 Financial Aid Petitions

We know that the past year has held many challenges and that you and your family may have experienced changes in your household or financial situation.  We are here to assist you in meeting your changing financial needs.

If you have not already done so, complete your 2021-2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) immediately at StudentAid.gov.  Not sure if you are eligible to complete a FAFSA? Find out more about FAFSA eligibility.

If you have completed the FAFSA, but feel that it does not accurately reflect your family’s circumstances, we can help you complete a petition.  Petitions enable us to re-evaluate your situation for reasons such as

  • loss of income due to decreased work hours or wages;
  • loss of employment;
  • divorce or death of a parent or spouse; or
  • other events that changed your household structure or finances.

SFA hosted three (3) live sessions via Zoom in July 2021 to give you tips for submitting a petition, and to answer any questions you may have.

If you were unable to attend or would like to revisit the presentation, a recording is below. The presentation is also available on https://www.sfa.ufl.edu/resources/videos/the SFA videos webpage.
