Florida College Transfer Academic Scholarship (FCTAS)

Deadline: May 1
UF offers two scholarships of $4000 to transfer in-state community college students selected to the All-Florida Academic First Team. Recipients of the award are required to maintain a UF GPA of at least 3.0 and successfully complete 14 credit hours each semester of the award.

In order to qualify, applicants must have a lower division GPA of at least 3.80. Deadline for applying is May 1 each year for a scholarship award for the upcoming academic year.

Florida College Transfer Scholarship (FCTS)

Deadline: May 1
UF will offer up to ten (10) Florida College Transfer Scholarship (FCTS). Scholarship recipients will receive a one-year scholarship with a value of $1000 to $2000, with the exact amount awarded determined by student need as calculated by the UF Student Financial Aid and Scholarships Office. (Note: the student will have to submit a completed FAFSA form available online at https://studentaid.gov/fafsaStudentAid.gov). Award recipients are required to maintain a UF GPA of at least 3.0 and successfully complete 12 credit hours each semester of the award.

The FCTS is a competitive program for qualified Florida residents, which is awarded on the basis of financial need and/or academic merit, and other selected criteria. In addition to academic achievement, character of the applicant, and whether the applicant has been awarded any other scholarship aid will be considered.

Tuition Exchange Program

UF is a member of the Tuition Exchange Inc., a non-profit organization with a membership of more than 586 Colleges and Universities in 47 states, the District of Columbia, and the United Kingdom. Membership includes private as well as public institutions, research and doctoral universities, liberal arts colleges and comprehensive institutions of higher education, and specialized schools.

Through Tuition Exchange, employee dependents attend colleges and universities other than their home institution. UF waives in-state and out-of-state tuition for a limited number of children of employees at participating institutions. Students must meet all admission requirements. The number of awards available depends on the number of UF employee dependents accepted by other participating institutions and the availability of funds.

  • Dixie Neilson Museum Studies Registration Internship
    Eligibility: graduate students earning Master of Arts degrees/certificates
    in museum studies at UF or other institutions, who are selected to participate

  • E. Robert Langley Internship

The Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program is designed to encourage undergraduates to pursue doctoral degrees.

  • Eligibility: UF juniors or seniors (must have three semesters remaining before graduation); a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA; low-income and first-generation college students or a member of a group that is underrepresented and intends to pursue a Ph.D. after graduation; eligibility criteria set by the U.S. Department of Education; for more information, please contact UF McNair Scholar’s office.

The following awards are available for students who meet the following basic criteria (each scholarship may have additional criteria or restrictions):

  1. Are at least 18 years old by the start of the program of choice
  2. Are a U.S. resident or legal permanent citizen
  3. Completed a Study Abroad Scholarship Application (available on the https://internationalcenter.ufl.edu/study-abroad/getting-startedStudy Abroad website)
  4. Provide two letters of recommendation, a statement of purpose essay and an official UF transcript.
  5. Have a minimum 2.5 GPA (some scholarships require higher)
  6. Show proof of acceptance to the program of choice

Application Deadlines: February 1 for summer; March 1 for fall and academic year programs; September 20 for spring programs.

UFIC Semester and Academic Year Scholarships

  • https://internationalcenter.ufl.edu/daniel-sinclair-bredahlThe Daniel Sinclair Bredahl Scholarships – These scholarships are awarded annually to UF undergraduates on the basis of a demonstrated interest in international study, appropriateness of the chosen program to the student’s long-term goals and financial need. Awards are given for semester or academic year programs. Please visit above websitehttp://ufic.ufl.edu/BredahlScholarship.html to read more about the history of this scholarship.To be eligible for an award, students must be studying abroad for at least 90 days. The semester scholarships award $1,750 each. The academic year scholarship awards $3,000.
  • UF International Center Scholarships– These scholarships are given to students studying for a semester or academic year on a UF-approved program.  Students are selected based on their academic and extracurricular activities at UF. Students applying for Fall/Spring must be studying abroad for at least 90 days. Academic Year Scholarships are for $4000 while semester scholarships are for $2000.  Last year, 1 student received an Academic Year Scholarship and 8 received semester long scholarships.
  • UFIC Summer Scholarships – These scholarships are given to students who are attending approved summer programs whom the faculty review committee selects based on their overall performance.  Last year, we had 40 winners and each scholarship was for $1000.
  • UF International Merit – These scholarships are awarded to students with a minimum of 3.5 GPA and  are attending UF sponsored summer programs. Last summer, 10 students received this scholarship.  Each of the scholarships is for $1000.
  • UF Honors Scholarships – These scholarships are designated for Honors students. Last summer, 6 students received awards.  Each of the scholarships is for $1000.
  • Irene Phillips Alliance Scholarships– These scholarships were established in memory of Irene Phillips, the mother of Paul Phillips, who serves on the advisory board at the UF International Center.  The scholarships are designated specifically for Alliance Scholars.  The number and amount of awards vary. These scholarships are available for both the summer and semester terms.

The Awards Division of UF’s University Honors Program serves as a source of information for any UF student considering applying to one or more of these nationally recognized awards. The fellowships require an extensive period of preparation before a student will be able to submit an application, so students should contact the appropriate awards adviser far in advance of the campus deadline for both domestic and overseas fellowships.

  • John V. Lombardi Scholarship

    John V. Lombardi, one of the University of Florida’s most charismatic and popular presidents, led the university during the 1990s, a period of unprecedented achievement and growth. His visionary leadership and indomitable spirit instilled in students, faculty and alumni an aspiration to fulfill their greatest potential. During his tenure, the size and quality of the student body grew to even higher levels, faculty productivity increased, national rankings steadily improved, research funding doubled, and the university’s endowment soared to almost $500 million. By the turn of the century, the university had ascended to the top tier of public research universities – a testament to the legacy of John V. Lombardi. The Scholarship was established in 2002 to honor Dr. Lombardi and his achievements at UF.   • Stamps Scholarship

    The University of Florida partners with the Stamps Scholars program to award multi-year scholarships to help driven and talented student leaders achieve their education and life goals. Stamps Scholars pursue their educational interests while developing their leadership skills with merit based financial aid including enrichment funds that can be used for study abroad, cultural exchanges, research projects and other educational experiences. Stamps Scholars also join a community of more than 1370 current and graduate Scholars around the world with whom they network and share their experiences. Consideration for the UF Stamps Scholarship is contingent upon acceptance into the UF Honors Program.   • Albert G. Raybun Scholarship

    This is a need-based scholarship for juniors following a pre-medical course of study, to support them during their senior year. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and must submit a letter stating “the circumstances for requesting aid”. All applicants must have a current FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid office. UF Gator Club Scholarships

Gator Clubs® exist under the umbrella of the University of Florida Alumni Association for the benefit of UF, its alumni, parents, friends and students. With many locations and diversity, Gator Clubs® serve to sponsor education and professional seminars, provide scholarship opportunities, host social and athletic functions, design community service projects and foster young alumni programming. Membership in Gator Clubs® is open to all alumni, parents, friends and students of the university.

The UF Alumni Association-chartered Gator Clubs® sponsor scholarships for students attending UF from all over Florida, as well as many other parts of the country. Gator Club® scholarships are awarded based upon criteria established by each Gator Club®, including, but not limited to academic merit, school involvement, and community involvement.
