In light of the recent devastation caused by multiple hurricanes, the University of Florida has created “Aid-a-Gator.” Aid-a-Gator is an emergency funding program designed to provide limited assistance to UF students, faculty and staff who are experiencing a temporary financial hardship due to the hurricanes and their aftermath.
If students are experiencing any financial-aid related issues or concerns related to the hurricanes, please contact the Office for Student Financial Affairs to discuss financial aid options that might be available to assist. An application for the UF Student Aid-a-Gator program is available.
Funds from Aid-a-Gator are intended to be a grant, not a loan, to help our students, faculty and staff who have been hardest hit by the storms and their aftermath. Aid-a-Gator grants can range from $100 to $1500 with documentation.
For additional information, visit the UF Student Aid-a-Gator Frequently Asked Questions.
If you have applied for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and financial need has been determined for you, your eligibility for financial aid may be reevaluated, based on your special circumstances and may include additional grant funding.
SFA can be reached by telephone at (352) 392-1275 or if you are in the Gainesville area and are able to come in, the office is located in S107 Criser Hall and is open from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday.
Additional information is also available for Aid-A-Gator for UF faculty and staff.
