Receiving Aid in '08-'09
Direct Deposit
The University of Florida (UF) offers you the service of delivering your financial aid money more quickly than ever, by depositing your financial aid directly into your checking account!
What is direct deposit?
Instead of receiving a check for your financial aid, your aid funds are deposited electronically into your checking account at the bank you choose. A written notification or e-mail is sent to you each time a transfer is made to your account.
What are the benefits?
- Delivered directly to your account within 24 hours (next business day service)!
- Mailing address problems are eliminated.
- No more standing in line at your bank to deposit your check.
- Protection against theft or time delays caused by lost checks. Lost checks take about eight weeks to replace.
- No more worries if you are out of town or don't have time to pick up your mail.
Can a direct deposit be made to any bank?
- The university can direct deposit to any financial institution within the USA with electronic funds transfer capabilities.
- A large majority of banks participate in the electronic funds transfer network.
- Contact your bank if you have questions about its ability to accept direct deposit.
- You may want to consider opening a Gator 1 card/Wachovia account. If you open a Wachovia account, your Gator 1 student ID will also become an ATM card, enabling you to pay for many services on and off campus using your Gator 1 card. For more information, contact the Reitz Union branch bank at (352) 335-3314.
How do you sign up?
- To sign up for Direct Deposit, use UF's ISIS system on the Web at www.isis.ufl.edu/. Under Services select Financial Services, then choose EFT Sign Up.

also sign up using a Direct Deposit Authorization form, available

you will need to complete and sign the authorization form and return

- Signing up will not delay or affect your financial aid or fellowship disbursements.
