Endowed Scholarships
The following endowed scholarships and fellowships are administered by the UF Foundation. For information, check with the departmental contact person or the Foundation Web site.
- Arthur C. Andres Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility: horticultural sciences students; academic merit, professional potential, leadership ability, and financial need.
Value: varies - AOS (American Orchid Society)/11th WOC (World Orchid Conference) Scholarship Fund
Eligibility: upper-division or graduate students pursuing degrees in horticulture or botany who have demonstrated interest in, and who will pursue with the proceeds of the grant, studies or research in orchidology.
Value: $500-$2,500, two consecutive years - Gene and Barbara Batson Scholarship
Eligibility: IFAS students interested in careers in ornamental nursery; award supports students who participate in internships to provide hands-on preparation for a nursery industry career.
Value: $500-$2,000 - Environmental Horticulture Turfgrass Scholarship
Eligibility: undergraduate and graduate students in Floriculture. - Martin Glasser Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility: landscape and nursery horticulture undergraduate and graduate students.
Value: $500
Mike Hackmann Memorial Scholarship
- William F. Ward Memorial Scholarship Fund
Eligibility: outstanding juniors majoring
in citrus studies; graduate students in an
area of horticulture.
Value: $1,000, two awards
Eligibility: undergraduate and graduate students in Floriculture. Value: $500 Bobby F. McKown Scholarship/ Fellowship Endow ment Fund Eligibility: undergraduate and graduate horticulture science majors with priority to students specializing in fruit crops.

Non-Endowed Scholarships
A number of scholarships are available through awards given by industry and private groups.
- Lisa Burton Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility: juniors and seniors with a
minimum 2.5 GPA who are active members
of the Environmental Horticulture Club.
Value: varies - Lena B. Hughes Estate
Eligibility: scholarship, leadership, and
interest in promoting the Florida citrus
industry.
Value: $3,000 and personal plaque - Phelps Foundation Scholarships
Eligibility: environmental horticulture
students; academic excellence, letter of intent,
extracurricular activities, and financial need.
Value: $1,000-$3,000; multiple awards
