UF Endowed Scholarships and Fellowships
The following endowed scholarships and fellowships are administered by the UF Foundation. For information, check with the departmental contact person or the Foundation Web site.
- Madelyn Lockhart Fellowship Fund
Eligibility: full-time, female Ph.D. candidates who have completed doctoral coursework, have been admitted to candidacy, and are ready to write their dissertation.
Value: $2,000 awarded annually - Tybel Spivack Scholarship Fund
Eligibility: students, preferably over 40, who have returned to school and are working with an emphasis in language; must be studying for a degree or certificate or pursuing a women's studies minor.
Value: at least $500, applications due in spring
Non-Endowed Scholarships
- Judith Brown Endowment
Eligibility: students who are experienced, committed feminist activists.
Value: $100-$300, depends upon tuition - Alice Charlotte Hogsett Award for Education for Women and Girls
Eligibility: writer of best student paper, project, or proposal focused on education of women and girls; faculty- or self-nomination; letter from faculty member under whose supervision work was carried out.
Value: $500, applications due in spring - Irene Thompson Scholarship
Eligibility: students majoring in or demonstrating a strong commitment to Women's Studies; applications due in spring.
