UF Endowed Scholarships and Fellowships
The following endowed scholarships and fellowships are administered by the UF Foundation. For information, check with the departmental contact person or the Foundation Web site.
- Scholarship Fund in Honor of Frances M. Reitz
Eligibility: graduate music majors who
demonstrate excellence in music performance,
composition, or research.
Value: $1,000 - Velma Lykes Music Scholarship Fund
Eligibility: music students; minimum 3.0 GPA; demonstrated financial need; preference toward students specializing in violin.
Value: $2,000 - Edith P. Pitts Music Scholarship Fund
Eligibility: nomination by a faculty member; 3FA or higher students; minimum 3.0 GPA; outstanding performers recognized for having assumed a leadership role in - Department of Music or College of Fine Arts activities.
Value: $1,000, two-year limit - John and Margaret Sung Family Fine Arts Fellowship
Eligibility: meritorious graduate students in composition or conducting; must qualify as master's or doctoral candidate and have 3.5 GPA; 3.5 GPA to renew.
Value: varies - George W. Tedder, Jr., and Susan Heald Tedder Scholarship Fund
Eligibility: outstanding graduate students in choral music or voice, and outstanding undergraduate students in voice.
Value: varies - James W. Van Horn Music Fund
Eligibility: undergraduates or graduate students working on a master’s or Ph.D. in Music; proficiency in chorale singing, composing, or conducting; must demonstrate financial need.
Value: varies - David L. Wilmot Prize for Excellence in Music Education Fund
Eligibility: students with music education degrees or with excellence in service as a music teacher; must be pursuing a graduate degree in music education; upper-class students may be considered.
Value: $1,000, renewable
