UF Endowed Scholarships and Fellowships
The following endowed scholarships and fellowships are administered by the UF Foundation. For information, check with the departmental contact person or the Foundation Web site.
- Robert H. Bowers Fund
Eligibility: qualified literature students specializing in medieval/renaissance studies.
Value: $1,000 for one year - Michael Hauptman Scholarship Fund
Eligibility: worthy students; financial need.
Value: varies - T. Walter Herbert Fellowship Fund
Eligibility: incoming graduate students in the MFA creative writing program.
Value: $1,000 - Edwin C. Kirkland and Mary Kirkland-Johns Scholarship
Eligibility: students studying folklore or Victorian English; financial need and academic merit.
Value: (1) M.A. candidates: $5,000 for two years (can be supplemented with assistantship and tuition waiver); (2) Ph.D. candidates: first and third-years; $5,000 each year (can be supplemented with assistantship and tuition waiver); secondand fourth-years: $17,500 each year plus tuition; $500 for professional travel once during award; renewals subject to satisfactory progress review and eligibility - Rebecca Elizabeth Porter Creative Writing Fellowship
Eligibility: incoming female creative writing students in the MFA creative writing program.
Value: $1,000 for one year
Non-Endowed Scholarships
- Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Baskin Fellowship
Eligibility: graduate students inclined toward the development of American literature and promotion of its study.
Value: $1,000-$4,000 for one, two, or three years (renewal subject to satisfactory progress) - Grinter Fellowships
Eligibility: graduate students.
Value: $1,000-$4,000 for three years (renewal subject to satisfactory progress) - Katherine Spessard Fund
Eligibility: creative writing program fellowship.
Value: $1,000 for one year
