Out-of-state students, one group within the ever-growing number of populations attending colleges and universities, often have specific issues and concerns. As an out-of-state resident, how much will it cost me to attend UF?
ANSWER: $713 per credit hour (New Students); to be a full-time student you must register for a minimum of 12 credits. The estimated cost of tuition per year is $21,400.
What is UF's Estimated Cost of Attendance for out-of-state residents?
ANSWER: The estimated undergraduate Cost of Attendance for out-of-state students for the 2007-08 academic year, is $34,910 for students living on-campus, and is $33,350 for students living off-campus.
What is included in the figures for Cost of Attendance?
ANSWER: Tuition and fees, books and supplies, housing, meals, transportation, computer costs, clothing maintenance, and personal/insurance.
When should I get started, who should I talk to about financial aid, and how should I proceed?

- Talk first with your high school guidance counselor.
- Apply for financial aid using the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). You can get one from your high school guidance office OR apply online using FASA on the Web.
- Contact local and regional organizations about scholarship opportunities.
- If you have questions. call the university where you are applying. Apply early—well before the posted deadlines.
- Pay close attention to the university's admission deadlines and financial aid application deadlines. Check these deadlines on your college's Web site or in the application materials.
