Florida Bright Futures Scholarship renewal is an automatic process that occurs at the end of the spring term if you received funding during the current year. To be eligible, you must earn the cumulative GPA and required hours indicated below on all college coursework attempted, including out-of-state coursework (but excluding dual enrollment courses).

* Florida Academic Scholars with 2.75-2.99 will renew as Florida Medallion Scholars.
**Florida Medallion Scholars may NOT renew as Florida Academic Scholars; initial eligibility requirements for Florida Bright Futures Scholarships must be met upon high school graduation.
*** Gold Seal Vocational Scholars may renew as Medallion Scholars during summer renewal.

SUMMER GRADES AND HOURS earned after spring evaluation may be used to meet scholarship renewal requirements. Contact SFA to submit a grade and hour update to the Bright Futures Office.

If you do not meet renewal requirements because of an illness or emergency, submit a written appeal request to SFA.  The deadline for an appeal is 30 days from the date of the ineligibility notice sent to you by the Bright Futures Office or the deadline set by SFA, whichever is later.
